Reputations or *reps*

i know you had issues with the whole top commentators thing *cough cough* but how about something that encourages people to be kind, to be helpful, to be positive? i have seen reputations being used on several sites. you click on someone's name or an icon or something on the post and you can leave positive or negative reputations with a comment only they can read as to why. you are only allowed to do someone's rep once in a post thread. and you have to rep 10 other people before you can rep the same person again. some checks and balances there so its not abused. what do you think?

youtube has it too? wow!! no i saw it on HCW and another site i cannot remember right now. i just think it would be neat to have a checks and balance kind of thing that encourages people. people LOVE to be acknowledged, dont you think? LOL

LOL naw i meant like people getting points on a little counter on thier profiles in the forum that shows thier reputation. i think it would be a great encouragement to people.
